When you apply for a full-time degree programme at the college you now have the option of submitting your application the traditional way (through UCAS) or choosing the Fast Track. Fast Track applications come directly to the college and can be processed much faster than if submitted via UCAS.
All part-time applications are only submitted directly to the college.

We offer an extensive range of programmes - ranging from Levels 4-7 across our suite of HNCs, HNDs, Foundation and Honours Degrees and Master’s qualifications - and our dedicated staff are here to help you make the most out of your time with us. As a foundation degree awarding powers college, we have an excellent reputation for the standard of teaching and support that we provide to all of our students. Our smaller class sizes allow us to get to know you as individuals and provide more specialist one-to-one support throughout your course in a friendly and professional learning environment.
By studying locally, you will have access to academic experts, excellent links to local employers and industry, along with opportunities for educational visits, without the expense of accommodation costs associated with studying further afield. And, with affordable tuition fees, studying for a degree at Hull College not only provides you with a great experience, it will also allow you to learn, develop and progress without having to break the bank.
After the foundation degree is completed, students can then choose to either exit into employment or, enrol onto the BA/BSc/BDes/BEng (Hons) to take the final third year of study. This is sometimes referred to as the 2+1 model of higher education study, ideal if you wish to take your studies to the next academic level.
Foundation Degree - 2 Years
A foundation degree is two thirds of an Honour stages on qualification, designed in association with employers to combine academic study skills with industry related learning. You can gain professional and technical skills to further your career alongside a more traditional academic format. Foundation degrees usually focus on a particular job or profession and are intended to increase your professional and technical skills.
Bachelors (Top-Up) - 1 Year
If you wish to progress your studies within higher education, you may be able to stay with us to complete a Level 6 (Honours stage) of the degree. This option is for students who wish to continue studying, or are interested in achieving a full BA/BSc/BEng qualification and there is a validated pathway option from your foundation degree specialism.
Our main campus is located in the heart of the city’s historical old town and is easy to access by car, bus or train. Since we’re in the East Riding of Yorkshire, you’re never too far from some of the most picturesque countryside and coastlines. Hull’s strong transport links mean your next stop can quite literally be anywhere! There’s a direct train service to London and other major UK cities, as well as our direct ferry links to Europe, ideal for trips back home during study breaks or if you fancy exploring. York and Leeds are just an hour away which is great for shopping trips or maybe a day at the races?
Our friendly atmosphere and superb facilities are some of the many reasons why people choose to study with us. Looking to the future, the legacy left behind from our City of Culture status means that Hull has become the new hot spot for exciting events and showcases. With big bands and acts at the Bonus Arena, as well as cultural installations in and around the city centre, you will always have something new to discover exciting opportunities to dive into.
A bursary is a non-repayable cash award given by the college as extra financial help. Unlike a scholarship, bursaries are awarded to students who meet specific criteria, usually relating to personal circumstances, rather than academic achievement. You can use the funds to help you cover the cost of tuition, books, university accommodation, travel, study aids, childcare and more. HE Students that are eligible for bursary’s will be considers early in the academic year.
You could get extra money from the college if you’re experiencing financial hardship. You may be, for example:•A student with children, especially single parents
•A mature student with existing financial commitments
•From a low-income family
•Disabled
•A student that was previously in care (a ‘care leaver’)
•Homeless
The amount you can get is decided by the college and is subject to means testing .
Student loans are available to cover the cost of tuition fees from Student Finance England for both full and part-time study. We also offer a range of part-time courses, meaning you can fit them around your life, getting a degree alongside your other commitments, without one impacting the other.
