Benefits of an Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship will provide you with a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, making it an attractive option if you’re looking to gain experience, upskill, or change careers. Key benefits include:

  • Development of experience and skills
  • A nationally recognised qualification with no tuition fees
  • Employee benefits and a wage
  • Networking with industry professionals
What will I Earn?

The wage you’ll earn as an apprentice depends on factors such as industry, location, and apprenticeship level.

  • If you’re aged 16-18 or in your first apprenticeship year you will be entitled to the apprentice rate (currently £6.50 per hour)
  • If you’re aged 19 or over and have completed your first year you will be entitled to the National Minimum Wage (currently £8.60per hour)
Can I Apply?

If you’re over 16 you can apply for an apprenticeship. There are no upper age limits. Apprenticeships are an excellent opportunity for anyone aged 16 and over in England if you are:

  • Early in your career
  • Looking to upskill in your current job
  • Seeking a career change
  • Not in full-time education
  • Looking for new opportunities

  • Support for assignments and learning tasks
