Gaining work experience in your chosen area of study is vitally important to help boost your employability after college and ensure that you are better prepared to be successful and productive in the workplace.

Your placement will see you spend a minimum of 45 days or 315 hours working for an employer in a role directly relevant to your course. It will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career choices, get a taste of work and put your learning into practice in the workplace to ensure you finish your course with the skills, knowledge, and expertise that employers are looking for and desire.

Benefits of work placement

• Get a head start by working within an industry or sector that you are interested in.

• Gain industry0specific skills and further your knowledge outside of classroom learning.

• Take a step forward professionally by developing your CV.

• Leave college knowing you have the qualifications, technical skills, and experience employers are looking for.

• Progression route into an apprenticeship, full-time employment, or university.
