Hull College and Hidden Disabilities Charity are delighted to announce a significant step forward in their partnership.

Natalie Houfe, Founder of Hidden Disabilities Charity, visited Hull College to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) alongside Lynette Leith, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Skills. This new partnership marks a pivotal moment in fostering inclusivity and awareness within the college and the wider community.

The MoU is a demonstration of both organisations’ dedication to enhancing support for students and staff with hidden disabilities. The agreement focuses on collaborative efforts in training, resource sharing, and advocacy, aimed at improving life for those with hidden disabilities.

Reflecting on the significance of this partnership, Lynette Leith said: “At Hull College, we are committed to creating an environment where every student and staff member can thrive, regardless of the challenges they may face. Working with Hidden Disabilities Charity enables us to tap into specialised resources and expertise that will greatly benefit our college community. Signing this MoU is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance inclusivity and ensure that our educational practices reflect the diverse needs of all individuals.”

Speaking after putting pen to paper on the MoU, Natalie Houfe added: “We are thrilled to partner in this way with Hull College, a respected institution that shares our vision of a more inclusive society. This MoU is a pledge to work closely together to bring about greater awareness, insight, and change. Our collaboration will help to ensure that hidden disabilities are recognised and accommodated within educational settings, paving the way for greater understanding and support.”

The ethos behind the MoU is rooted in mutual respect and a shared goal to enhance the educational experience and workplace environment for people with hidden disabilities. Through joint initiatives, training programmes, and awareness campaigns, Hull College and Hidden Disabilities Charity are setting out to collectively promote equality and understanding.

Both institutions look forward to a fruitful collaboration that not only benefits their direct communities, but also sets a benchmark for inclusive practices in educational institutions across the nation.

The partnership will be celebrated at The Hidden Disabilities Charity’s annual ball, which will see exciting news announced about a new student focused campaign.
