The Humber region has long been synonymous with industry, creativity, and resilience. Now, Hull College is proud to present the Humber Visionaries Gala Dinner on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 - an exclusive event to honour the trailblazers and thought leaders who are shaping the future of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The evening promises to be a spectacular celebration of the people and organisations driving innovation and fostering economic growth across the region. As Hull and East Yorkshire continue to thrive, this prestigious event will shine a light on the individuals whose contributions are propelling the Humber into a new era of success and opportunity.
Set in the elegant surroundings of our Horncastle Building, the Humber Visionaries Gala Dinner will provide an incredible opportunity for business and community leaders to connect, reflect on shared progress, and look ahead to the exciting opportunities on the horizon. Guests will enjoy a world-class dining experience, expertly crafted by the talented students and staff at Bilocca - a showcase of Hull College’s exceptional hospitality training programme.
The evening will be hosted by Councillor Anne Handley, a passionate advocate for the region’s growth and success. Anne’s leadership and commitment to the Humber will guide guests through the evening’s proceedings, recognising the individuals and organisations that have made an indelible mark on the community.
Adding further inspiration to the evening, the college will also welcome Richard Askam as the special guest speaker. Richard, the architect behind the wildly successful ‘Share a Coke’ marketing campaign, will share his insights on effective communication, innovation, and personalisation. Richard’s expertise, honed over 30 years in the wine business, and his work as a public speaker, coach, and consultant, have made him a recognised figure in the global business landscape. He has been instrumental in projects such as Projekt Renewable, a local initiative in Grimsby designed to unlock future opportunities and empower the community through green energy education. Richard will share the exciting developments from Alexandra Dock and discuss how similar projects are set to transform the Humber region’s approach to sustainability and future growth.
Debra Gray MBE, Principal and CEO of Hull College, said: “We are incredibly excited to be hosting the Humber Visionaries Gala Dinner at Hull College. This special event is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations that are driving positive change across our region. The Humber continues to flourish thanks to the vision, dedication, and ambition of those who call it home, and we look forward to shining a spotlight on their achievements.
“By bringing together leaders, innovators, and changemakers from all walks of life, the evening will be a testament to the resilience and forward-thinking spirit of the Humber region. Hull College is proud to be part of this journey of growth, transformation, and possibility, and we are excited to celebrate alongside those who are helping to shape the future.”
