Level 2 Cabin Crew students enjoyed a taste of industry training during a visit to Humberside Offshore Training Association (HOTA) on Wednesday this week.
The group completed a personal survival wet drill assessment designed for Eastern Airways Cabin Crew staff which saw them take part in a simulated rescue operation, evacuating into water in the dark and forming a survival circle before swimming to a life raft.
The students gained valuable survival training as a result and overcame initial apprehensions and fears to complete all exercises, including righting a cap-sized raft and assisting one another to safely board the raft.
Learning outside the classroom is a fantastic way to increase employability and life skills in our students and everyone at the college is grateful for the opportunity provided by the amazing team at HOTA.
Does travelling the world as a member of an Air Cabin Crew sound appealing? If so, take the first steps towards an exciting career with our travel and tourism courses.
