THe Details

The Level 2 Health and Nursing Academy is designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge you will need to prepare for a career in the healthcare sector.in a variety of different roles.  Units focus on health related subjects such as Anatomy & Physiology, Infection Prevention and Control, Dementia Awareness and Common Care Disorders. A proportion of the course is delivered in our bespoke simulated hospital ward, co-designed with staff in the NHS.  Obviously we have a fantastic uniform also to keep in line with industry standards.

 

Exciting and valuable work experience opportunities are offered within the NHS via the Young Health Champions Volunteer Scheme and can be tailored to your specific interest, whether it be Adult Nursing, Accident and Emergency, Paediatrics or something else.  However, if you wish to take on an alternative work experience placement, our dedicated Work Placement Officer will help you with this.

 

The Level 2 Health and Nursing Academy is an academic pathway and is intended to prepare you to progress primarily to a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, a T level in Health, or potentially an A Level/vocational package.  You would then have the choice of  progressing further to Higher Education/Degree Apprenticeships or employment.

 

We also want you to be as employable as possible so offer additional qualifications within the study programme, such as Emergency First Aid, Nutrition and Health and Customer Service.

UCAS provides support for young people making post-18 choices, as well as mature learners, by providing information, advice, and guidance to inspire and facilitate educational progression to university, college, or a degree apprenticeship.

We support 1.5 million students every year to explore entering higher education, employment and apprenticeships and manage almost three million applications, from around 700,000 people each year, for full-time undergraduate courses at over 380 universities and colleges across the UK.

It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.

Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.

Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.

Hull College’s collaboration with the University of Huddersfield allows us to offer degree courses at Level 7. This course and qualification is subject to monitoring by our collaborative partner and is awarded as a University of Huddersfield degree.
