Helen gained her NVQ Level 3 and HNC Level 4 qualifications in Graphic Design at Hull College and is now a chartered marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a marketing tutor for Oxford College of Marketing and owner of her own creative marketing company, HelloU Marketing.
Starting out in the world of graphic design, she went on to gain eight years’ experience in the creative industry before spending the next 12 years in a senior marketing position working with teams globally, developing strategic marketing plans and leading multiple projects introducing new systems, processes and initiatives to drive digital transformation. With an eye on the future, Helen is also passionate about giving back and inspiring the next generation of creatives and marketers.
Reflecting on her Hull College experience, Helen said: “In school I loved being creative and I was always keen to learn new things. The qualifications I gained at Hull College have helped me to secure future roles in global organisations, designing packaging for products sold in major supermarkets such as ASDA and Lidl, design an award-winning database solution and reach the Hull and East Yorkshire Digital Award Finals back in 2018. “The qualifications also gave me the confidence to continue my learning with the Chartered Institute of Marketing where I achieved my Certificate in Professional Marketing (Digital) and a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing (Digital) both completed to the highest pass rate. I will always be grateful to my tutors and Hull College for providing the opportunities for me to progress and develop early on in my career. My experience at the college provided me with a solid foundation and the practical work experience I needed to move forward in my career after completing my studies.
