The Level 1
Introduction to Digital Skills provides learners with an opportunity to build
skills within the computing and digital sector. This is a skills-based qualification designed to
help learners develop the personal and social skills needed to help them to
progress to independent living, future employment or further vocational
study.
The L1
Introduction to Digital Skills study programme gives you a basic yet
comprehensive skill level that will support progression into the more technical
aspects of computing. You’ll develop your knowledge of the digital sector and
learn about the skills that you need to start your career.
You’ll be
introduced to coding and developing basic games to support your understanding.
You’ll learn about creative digital technologies and boost your software
productivity skills.
You’ll have
work experience in the digital industry and improve your employability skills as
well as your maths and English.
This study
programme gives you the skills to progress onto the L2 Digital and IT Skills
study programme, preparing you to become a software developer, digital
entrepreneur or IT technician.

It is important to note that when you enrol on an Access to HE courseyou can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college or training provider in England.
Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks.
Check if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
Your loan will be written off if you then sign up for a Higher Education course AND you have completed in full the Access to HE course.
